the first major update... the babies started at "gigi"s house this week! angie is a former teacher who literally lives behind my classroom. i can walk to her house through the backyard. angie (known as gigi to all the kiddos) is keeping the twins, along with a few other teacher's babies. she is AMAZING and loves the itty bitty ones, so they are in the best possible care! i think of them throughout the day but it feels good to be back at work, preparing for another school year. i love getting to pop in for a visit with them during the day. even better is seeing their sweet faces when it's time to pick them up.
update # 2... they are sleeping better and better. they slept a few 6 hour stretches starting at 8 weeks old. it killed us when they went back to 3 or 4 hours last week. we had another step forward 2 nights ago when they slept 7 hours! oh, it feels so good to sleep again. i would take sleep over chocolate at this point in motherhood.
update # 3...i had to pack up all of the preemie clothes yesterday and i almost cried. so silly, isn't it? i've spent all of this time wishing them forward and on to an older age and there it went. just like that... the preemie days are gone and our babies are already growing up. help me, LORD, to embrace every second of every sleep deprived moment. time is so precious.
here is a picture from the day we brought them home... swallowed in the clothing we can no longer squeeze a chubby thigh into.

so good to hear the sleep is coming along. P did the same thing...slept for a long period and then some days they go back to a short nap? it's a little tease. but soon enough it will even out and you'll be getting sleep EVERY night! love y'all!!!
ReplyDeleteI cried when I put Jayden's away, too. And now he is growing out of his 0-3 month old and I think my heart will break. A friend said recently, "Parenting is full of really long days and really short years.." So true. In our case right now, really short months. Can't believe how fast our little ones are growing!!
ReplyDeletewow! i came across your blog on leigh's and i am just in awe of what God is doing in your life!!! what precious babies you guys have. take care.
